GANGA ACTION PLAN

(IN COLLABORATION WITH VARANASI NAGAR NIGAM AND NGRBA- July, 2013 to till date)

The organization has been sanctioned Ganga Action Plan in Varanasi under the aegis of Ministry of Environment & Forests and National Ganga River Basin Authority. This Project is being implemented in collaboration with Varanasi Nagar Nigam in Kotwali & Ghat Zone of Varanasi. Public Awareness and Public Participation activities form the core of the project whereby public is made aware about Ganga pollution by conducting several activities namely nukkad natak, community meetings, puppet shows, signature campaign, forming Mohalla Development Committess etc. Schools, Colleges, religious gurus, temple authorities, Sanitation workers- all form the target population of the project. Recently the team of Ganga Action Plan also participated in programme called “EK CHARCHA” on Doordarshan which presented the status of Ganga River and strategies government is developing to make Ganga pollution free. The team of Ray provided immense inputs to the experts which can go a long way in improving the status of the Holy River.
